Investigation of Near-Field Source Localization Using Uniform Rectangular Array

In fifth-generation (5G) wireless communications, large-scale arrays pose a challenge to the accuracy of signal models based on plane wavefront. this paper, novel method for 3D near-field direction arrival (DOA) estimation is proposed uniform rectangular array (URA). First, model vertical and delay phase shift received presented. Afterwards, divides complete parameters set into multiple-parameters subsets, only estimates one them in each iteration, leaving others fixed subset. As result, we can obtain maximum convergence rate deterministic likelihood (DML) algorithm. Finally, simulation results demonstrate that root mean square errors (RMSEs) algorithm are closer Cramer-Rao lower bounds converge faster than those DML algorithm, confirming its effectiveness superiority.
